Clippers & Cops at Westlake High School – A Powerful Classroom Conversation
Today, I had the opportunity to film **Tye Dennis**, a former Atlanta police officer and federal agent, as he brought his **Clippers & Cops** initiative to **Westlake High School**. In an intimate classroom setting, Dennis shared his personal journey with the students—opening up about the peer pressure he faced as a teen, the bad decisions that led to his suspension, and how he ultimately turned his life around.
The conversation was raw and real. Dennis didn’t just speak about the consequences of crime—he made it personal. He detailed how one wrong move can not only derail goals but also create a future filled with regret. More importantly, he shared how making the right choices, even after mistakes, can lead to redemption and purpose.
As I captured the students’ reactions, you could see the impact. What started as a casual classroom discussion quickly turned into a powerful exchange. Students who initially seemed disinterested were soon leaning in—engaged, reflective, and inspired.

Through Clippers & Cops, Dennis uses authentic dialogue to bridge the gap between youth and law enforcement, fostering trust and awareness. It’s not about scare tactics—it’s about giving young people the knowledge and insight they need to avoid life-altering mistakes.
This project was more than just a shoot—it was a reminder of how powerful storytelling can be in creating awareness and sparking change.
